Mallard Bay Senior Olympics

On a beautiful sunny morning, Mallard Bay staff were busy setting up for the first Senior Olympics at Mallard Bay.  Seventy-eight residents and 55 staff members participated and helped throughout the day. We had DJ Buddy Bloom for our entertainment and had Pit Pork BBQ for lunch.

We had five games–football throw, cornhole, wheelchair races, volleyball, and basketball. A team from our sister facility, LaurelWood, came to Mallard Bay to compete for a fun day activities.  Mallard Bay’s own Alan Hubbard and Warren Rue received metals in football throw, Medford Thomas in cornhole, and Robert Bailey in basketball. The Mallard Bay team also won two trophy’s for our team spirit and overall winners.  Lauarelwood elders took home a medal for the wheelchair races and a trophy for best camp.

It was a wonderful day and a true testament of teamwork.  Many residents and staff all are looking forward to our next Senior Olympics.
